DY500-A Powder Shaker & Oven Dryer | For Dual Printhead
Key Functions and Features
- Automated Dusting: A dispenser evenly applies TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) adhesive powder onto the wet ink as the film moves through the machine.
- Vibrating Shaker: A high-frequency mechanical arm or belt shakes the film to knock off excess powder, which is often collected in a recirculation drawer for reuse.
- Integrated Curing Oven: Infrared heating tubes or plates melt the powder into a uniform, “orange peel” textured adhesive layer in approximately 30 seconds.
- Automatic Take-Up: A motorized rewinder neatly rolls the finished, cured film, allowing for continuous production without manual intervention.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Why is a shaker better than manual powdering? Manual powdering is messy and often leads to “speckling” if excess powder isn’t perfectly removed. A shaker ensures uniform coverage and reduces material waste through automatic recycling systems.
- What temperature should I set for curing? While settings vary by powder brand, most systems cure between 160°C to 170°C (320°F–340°F) for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Does it require a special power outlet? Most industrial shakers, especially for 24-inch printers, require a 220V AC power supply due to the high energy consumption of the heating elements.
- How do I maintain it? Daily maintenance includes wiping away stray powder and cleaning the filter. Weekly, you should check for powder buildup in the corners and lubricate moving parts to prevent friction.
- Is a fume extractor needed? No. As you can see from our design, unlike the other Powder Shakers and Dryer, DPI’s Shaker does not require external extractor and our machine has an in-built recycling system that keeps things nice and clean. With other Powder Shakers in the market the melting process generates fumes and odors; but DPI’s modern shakers include or an integrated smoke purifier.
